Meet the Officers
President
[email protected] Hi, my name is Geoffrey Tanudjaja. I am currently studying Architectural Engineering. For me, USGBC is a platform where we explore the limitless possibilities and benefits of building sustainability. I believe that sustainable development starts from individuals. Thus, my hope for the club is to educate our members what is sustainable all about and hoping through education and actions, we can make the world a better place. |
Vice President
[email protected] Hi, my name is David Klein. I am a 4th year AE Student pursuing the structural option. While some of the other officers look at the larger picture of sustainable design, I tend to be more interested in the smaller topics such as the technology that goes into a sustainable building rather than an entire community. My hope for the chapter is to include a larger spectrum of topics/interests such that we reach out to a larger number of engineering and architecture students. |
Treasurer
[email protected] My name is Tyler Jani. I am currently studying Architectural Engineering with a focus in the structural options. I would like to see USGBC grow into a recognizable organization on campus. If we look today at our air and water quality, we can see the results of non-green behavior. Buildings have led to a good portion of this pollution. As people, it is important that we realize this and do everything we can to prevent pollution from being furthered. My hope is to help people understand just how important green building really is. |
Secretary
[email protected] My name is Tom Campbell. I am a fourth year Architectural Engineering Student with a focus in the mechanical option. I, personally, see USGBC as a great opportunity to advance my understanding of sustainable building design while at the same time encouraging my peers to take a leading role in continuing to reduce the environmental impacts of the buildings that we all people rely on every day. My main interest is making sustainability in buildings something that enhances the functionality of the building as well as improves occupant health both physically and mentally. It is my hope that the USGBC Penn State Student Chapter continues to grow as an organization and provide its members with opportunities that prove to be meaningful throughout their professional and personal lives. |
Social Chair
[email protected] Hello, my name is Josh Walker. I am a fourth year Architectural Engineering student focusing in the lighting/electrical option. The Penn State chapter of USGBC is a great way for anyone looking to become more involved in their understanding of sustainable building design. Energy consumption by buildings makes up a large portion of the country’s total, therefore green building design needs to be at the forefront of designs today. I believe that educating those who will create future buildings, as well as those who will inhabit them, will lead to less wasted energy and thus a reduced carbon footprint. It is our goal as a club to teach ourselves and others about sustainability and to provide the opportunity to put what we learn to use. |
